Surrey Food Bank Donations

The Surrey Food Bank desperately needs our donations to help feed hungry people in our community this season.  Our class hardly has any food to contribute to the school donation and I would love to see that change over the next few days.  Here are some of the items the food bank needs the most, although any non-perishable food items are welcome...
  1. Meals in a can
  2. Canned Vegetables
  3. Canned Fruit
  4. Pasta Sauces
Lets show the school and our community how generous GAD's Grade 7's can be!

Homework Wednesday, December 3rd

1. Math 4.4 softcover
2. Your article rough draft is due tomorrow
3. Hunger Games homework (due next Wednesday, December 10)
  • Read chapters 10-11
  • Journal response: In chapter 10 Peeta is talking to Katniss about the Hunger Games on the roof of the training centre and he says: “I want to die as myself...I don’t want them to change me in there.  Turn me into some kind of monster that I’m not.”  What do you think he means by this?  What is he afraid will happen to him in the Hunger Games arena?
  • Katniss or Peeta emotions drawing: Choose either Katniss or Peeta.  Draw a picture of them during the first 60 seconds of the Hunger Games while they are waiting on the platforms and use evidence from the book and what you know about their personalities to fill the space around the drawing with words.  The words should be emotions you think they are feeling and thoughts you think are going through their heads.  Be as detailed as you can.
