Great job on the Art Contest today! It's going to be very tough for the teachers to pick a winner.
Now it's time to gear up for our next contest, which will be a Multiplication Contest. Grade 7 students will be expected to know their multiplication tables from 1 to 12.
Start practicing now - I would suggest making charts or flashcards to study, quizzing yourself and your peers, and asking parents and siblings to quiz you. We will have at least one practice round in class so you get a feel for what the contest is going to be like.

Weekend Homework November 29 - December 1
Bonjour les Eleves,
1. 15 minute reading log each day
2. Read chapters 17-19 of the Hunger Games and do the following: for one of the chapters list the key events in point form, summarize one of the chapters in full sentences, make 3 connections to one of the chapters. Basically you are doing one short activity for each chapter, not 3 activities for each chapter.
3. Complete the chart for words 1-15 in your Hunger Games vocabulary package (acknowledging to condone)
4. Read math hardcover 3.3 and answer practice question #1 first using estimation and then using proper decimal addition

1. Please make sure you have the Hunger Games chapters I assigned yesterday read for tomorrow (chapters 15-16)
2. Start on your 9th Prezi question. You will have tomorrow's 40 minutes of class time to work on your Prezi, and then all 10 questions need to be finished for Friday so we can make our final touches to the presentation.
That's all for tonight as I know you have a computers assignment due tomorrow as well.

Art Contest on Friday
Art Contest!
Remember to bring your supplies for the Art Contest on Friday. All students will be participating during one 40 minute block of class time. We have paints and pastels for you to use, but you need to let me know if you need any of those by Wednesday so I can make sure our class gets some.
I have different colours of construction paper for us already, plus you have your felts, scissors, gluesticks and sketchbooks. Any other supplies you need will have to be brought in by you. Remember to have a plan ready before Friday because you will only have 40 minutes to complete you piece of artwork.

Ski and Snowboard Club Fundraiser
Hi Grade 7's!
Hope you are having a great weekend! This is a reminder that Ms. Nitta is hosting a movie event after school tomorrow to raise money for the Ski and Snowboard Club. There will be 2 movie options: one room will be playing an animated kids movie (most likely a Disney movie) and the other room will be playing a live action film for older students (movie still to be decided on). If you are interested please let your parents know that it will run from 3:00-5:00 tomorrow.

Here is a space for us to post class announcements, homework, reminders, etc. You do not need to have an e-mail address to check the site, but you do need to provide an e-mail ID to comment on a post. You'll also notice that there are some important links down the left side of the blog like the G.A.D. website and calendar, Prezi, and Go Go News. There is also a scrolling news feed on the bottom from various news websites in case you find an interesting current event there.
I will post our homework on here every day to that you and your parents can see what you have been assigned. This way I can write short reminders on the board every day and add details here.
