Homework Monday, March 10th, 2014

Tonight's homework:

Unfortunately, only one of the Science Fair groups completed their weekend homework.  As a result, many of you used up a great deal of valuable class time today.  You must have all of your display board information typed up for tomorrow.  You also need to make sure you have a board if you have not bought one yet, and all materials you need must be brought to class.

Weekend Homework March 7th-9th

Here is your weekend homework:

1. 15 minute reading log everyday

2. Your science fair display board needs to include the following sections: Title, question, hypothesis, key words and research description, procedure and materials, results chart or graph, results paragraph(s), conclusion, and photos or drawings. This weekend you need to type your final, edited copies of all of these sections so that we can begin to assemble your display boards on Monday.  The graph/chart should be created in Excel.  Any pictures or drawings should be in colour to add visual appeal to your board.

3. Get your display board and any materials you need to assemble your board - it should be colourful, neat, and visually appealing.  You will have access to construction paper and glue sticks in class, but anything else you need will have to be brought with you on Monday.

Reminders: I still need Prabhan, Manjot, and Jagjit to return their report card folders from Term 1.

Homework Thursday, March 6th, 2014

Tonight's homework:

1. 15 minute reading log
2. Complete Science Fair work from today's class:
- Turn your observation notes/video information into a results chart or graph AND a paragraph for your display board
- Write your conclusion in complete sentences and paragraphs.  Your conclusion has 3 parts:
              - The answer to your original question (re-state the question and then answer it)
              - Is your hypothesis correct or incorrect?  Explain.
              - If you were to complete the experiment again, what changes would you make?  How would you                    improve this experiment/project next time?

1. 15 minute reading log
2. Make a Venn diagram of the similarities and differences between the ancient and modern Olympic Games
3. Bring all of your science fair observations, booklets, and information to school tomorrow

2. Find a myth about the Greek god/goddess you were assigned on Friday
3. Finish your math 4.5 softcover questions if you did not complete them in class

Reminders:

You need to bring at least 3 family pictures to class on Wednesday for your French scrapbook.  You can print these off the computer - make sure your parents know they are getting glued into an assignment.

Pizza money is due Wednesday
